Royal Television Society Awards and Dinner

Guests gathered at The Queens Hotel in Leeds to honour excellence in TV at the 2011 Royal Television Society Programme Awards. The black-tie event was hosted by British comedian Bobby Knutt.

‘A Symphony for Yorkshire’ was the big winner of the evening – the BBC Yorkshire programme scooped four awards. Former BBC war correspondent Martin Bell was on hand to present the ‘Journalist of the Year Award’, the same prize he won in 1977.

The writer Kay Mellor was honoured with the ‘Lifetime Achievement’ award.
